@03:49Sorry, I don't want to be so offensive, but I don't understand this. Eating, but this girl show her pussy and her sucking skills but maybe I have a problem with that I don't understand this kind of art!
@03:53Yeh, I don't think that it should be shown to girls with self image problems as a deterrent - although we might see an increase in mini-milk sales.,,
I've only just noticed all the attention that this little short of mine has been getting, so thought it possibly worth elucidating upon the fairly brief description that had originally gone along with this - which I will keep as well.
This was my first self contained film and shot whilst I was working on the editing process for my 12 minute "A Special Form of Denial". The film was inspired by a still photograph I had taken a few months previously of the model (which went on to be used as the cover image of my first DVD of short films and can be viewed here: [link] ) and the metaphorical use of ice lollies and the oh so subtle phallic connotation meant that the film pretty much wrote itself.
Shot over the space of three hours, then edited and scored by myself, I was suitably inspired by this work to begin pursing the film making side of things as much as the photography and am now shooting music videos and being commissioned by various club events and cinemas.
This was shown at a Christian gallery (very cool and open minded Christian friend of mine is involved with) and billed as being a film depicting a young girl struggling with an eating disorder.
That wasn't quite my intention with the piece, but hey - I'm all for alternate interpretations of my work.
Strange, but entertaining and thought provoking. Sort of like watching Eraserhead, only without the mental indigestion that movie gave me. (And I really don't understand the comments from people who found it offensive -- it's just the sort of film I'd *expect* to find on a site like Deviantart, with a name like "Comfort eating" and a thumbnail of a woman's bum.) I wouldn't mind a comment or two from the director as to what actually happened in the film, but it's good without that, too. (A little confusion is OK!)
Thanks for the note - I'll happily take "strange" and "thought provoking", hopefully with a small dose of "sexy" sprinkled liberally on top.
One interviewer labeled me "David Lynch with a Hard-on" in the finished piece, which is a pretty crude compliment and I don't see a great deal of resemblance other than eraserhead (unintentional, but none the less), but as a thumbnail description....i guess it will do.
errrr so basically you just used an eating disorder as an excuse to make a 99.5% pervy movie, the end of which is not only badly acted, but doesn't link AT ALL to the other scenes. Laaaaame.
As stated in the description the eating disorder angle was nothing to do with me, rather an irrelevance hoisted upon it when shown at a particular venue.
Not when there is literally no artistic element in them- deep throating an ice-cream- and then puking it out- artistic. Besides, I have no problem with pervy films. This was a badly made one. The music did not fit, it was repetitive, the actress was moving unnaturally and child-like- bad acting- and the resolution and quality were bad. Oh I'm sorry, did I hurt you lil' ego? Go ahead, show your videos in your little cinema clubs and galleries, go on, let your sweet lil' self worth feed on it.
It's okay, you didn't hurt my ego, though your concern is appreciated.
You do however seem to be commenting on a genre of which you seem unfamiliar, which is fine as this is a sharing site and the ability to find new works you might otherwise not experience is one of the best parts of the whole DA experience. As is coming across works that you don't have any affinity with or that you feel are bad - which is just fine too.
My direction to the model was "unnatural and childlike" also, so it seems she did a pretty good job
